On Monday you can meet Jefficus the Roman soldier complete with full-suit of armour at Birdoswald Roman Fort. From 11am-4pm, the fearless fighter will provide visitors with the chance to try on his armour, and quiz him over rations and pay. EXHIBITORS from across the country will be competing for the Royal Horticultural Society's Banksian Medal and the Blue Ribbon at Burton's long-standing Horticultural Show on Saturday. In the Village Hall, there will be some stunning floral arrangements and demonstrations from artists and wine-makers.
