TWO legends of the British music scene are to hit Morecambe on the same night next month...
Marty Wilde and Gerry Marsden will be at The Dome and The Platform, bringing back echoes of the Swingingg Sixtires in two very different shows on Friday, September 17.
Marty Wilde, who is to many still the King of British Rock'n Roll will be performing at the Dome.
He presents an evening of rock memories from his own vaults and also pays homage to many dearly missed friends who, with Marty, shaped the nature of British Rock through the late Fifties and early Sixties.
Always known as the nice man of Rock n Roll, he recalls fond stories throughout the evening in a manner that will draw the audience back in time to great gigs and many of the Number Ones of the era Another unique journey of music, song and chat reliving the Swinging Sixties comes to the Platform that same evening as Gerry Marsden and the New Pacemakers hit the stage with a show called Gerry Across the Mersey'.
Gerry's career has also spanned four decades, beginning when he topped the charts with hits such as How Do You Do It and I like It'.
In later years he starred in West End musicals as he developed from a streetwise boyhood to become a consummate showman and artist.
Despite this, he remains down to earth with a wicked Scouse' sense of humour.
Gerry Across the Mersey is an evening of reminiscence about a long career, giving fans an opportunity to ask questions.
Details and tickets for both shows are from the box office on 01524-582803.
