I WAS saddened to read in Citizen last week of Coun Sheila Denwood's dismay at the plight of Lancaster's memorial gardens but appalled and disgusted by her attitude to the city's homeless population.

Where do her priorities lie with vulnerable people who need her support or those lucky enough to have a roof over their heads and their names on the electoral register?

I suggest that instead of complaining about where these people sleep rough she should be more concerned with why. It's a scandal that such a beautiful, thriving city as Lancaster still has residents forced to sleep on the streets.
