A MAN from Long Marton, near Appleby, was killed in a road crash on the A6 at Scalesceugh Hall, near Carlisle.
Police said a white Ford Fiesta carrying two men was travelling towards Penrith when it was in collision with a white Rover going towards Carlisle. Fiesta driver Lee Sorek, 26, of Long Marton, died along with his passenger, Ian Dixon, 37, of Penrith, and Rover driver Mark Lynan, 44, also of Penrith. The passenger in the Rover was treated in hospital and later released. Mr Sorek's fiance was too upset to talk about the accident. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on 01228-528191.
