MILNTHORPE'S Dallam Education and Training Centre is holding a number of summer school courses over the weekend. Check out workshops in jewellery design and manufacture on Friday or sewing, woodcarving and garden design on Saturday and computer classes and painting on Sunday. All courses run from 10am-4pm. THE grounds of Holker Hall, at Cark-in-Cartmel, will be filled with hundreds of vintage vehicles this weekend. Opening on Saturday and Sunday, the Historic Motoring Weekend will see exhibitors proudly displaying HGVs, PSVs, military and agricultural machines alongside some rather special classic cars from over the years. EXPERTS from Preston North End Football Club will host a Summer Soccer School at Windermere Junior School from Tuesday. CONCERTS
DOCTOR Franci O'Gorman, a senior lecturer and former Oxford organ scholar, will present a programme of Venetian organ music and J.S. Bach at St Andrew's Church, in Coniston, on Friday night at 7.30pm.
UNDER the steady and skilled hand of conductor, Martin Hughes, the Cobweb Orchestra will play a concert of some of Mozart's finest pieces at Rheged, near Penrith, on Sunday (7.30pm). Tel 01768-860090.
ON Saturday from 8pm, Cartmel Priory will be the venue for Off the Beaten Track, a concert of organ and mezzo-soprano music.
ON Tuesday, from 8pm, you can see Heejung Kim play a concert of piano music at Hawkshead Parish Church.

THEATRE
ON Saturday, Lancaster's Williamson Park will welcome Chapterhouse Theatre Company for a performance of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. MEMBERS of the Heron Theatre, in Beetham, have loaned their favourite paintings and pictures to form a varied exhibition. Open until the end of August on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (10am-noon).
ON Saturday, Kendal Art Society opens its Annual Exhibition in the town hall (10am-5pm Monday-Saturday).

BENDER, an photographic exhibition portraying action figures in various poses, is on show at Lancaster's Folly. Meanwhile, the gallery is also hosting Home-Maker, an award-winning interactive domestic installation by artist Jeanie Finlay, which explores what makes a house a home.
A PHOTOGRAPHIC exhibition, reflecting the feelings of locals who live and work in and around Morecambe Bay, has opened at Ulverston's Lanternhouse. Bay Tales is part of Longline - Welfare State International's three year project exploring ecology, mythology, people and industries of Morecambe Bay. PART of the Lake District Summer Music Festival, the Summer Music Exhibition of works by Cockermouth-born artist, Dorothy Bradford, at St Martin's College, in Ambleside, closes on Saturday.
FOLLOWING the success of the first picture exhibition, The Life and Times of George Romney, a collection of his paintings, portraits and sketches, opens at Kendal Town Hall on Friday at 11am. Open until August 22.
