YOUNGSTERS are going mad to be seen in Morecambe's newest attraction - a state-of-the-art skate park.
The facility was handed over to Lancaster City Council last Friday and already more than 30 kids each day have been spotted on the ramps.
"From the moment it opened it has been really busy," says a spokesman for the council.
Contractor Uniform Skatepark Construction prepared all the ramps off site and they were put up last week - though the official launch of the site will not be until Saturday September 4.
"The skatepark will provide a great facility for hundreds of Morecambe's youngsters and others visiting the resort," says Cllr Ron Sands, cabinet member for leisure.
"I am particularly happy with the role that a number of skaters in and around Morecambe have played in its development, providing useful advice and comments with regards to design and layout."
