FOR its 75th year, Southport's dazzling Summer Flower Show is set to bloom later this month, and to celebrate, in this week's Prizetime, I am giving away pairs of tickets to one of the horticultural highlights of the gardening calendar.
With the theme celebration', the event promises to be a colourful floral extrava-ganza this year, bursting with inspirational ideas and horticultural hints.
The UK's only HERBoretum is back by popular demand and is set to be an aromatic adventure packed with displays and demonstrations of all things herbal.
Gardening gurus and Southport Flower Show patrons, Professor David Bellamy, professor Stefan Buczacki and Roddy Llewellyn, will also be there at the Victoria Park venue to cast an expert eye over the exhibits and offer counsel to competitors.
Tickets usually cost £15 (£12 in advance) but I have four pairs of tickets to the event - which takes place from Thursday, August 19 to Sunday, August 22 - up for grabs.
So, for your chance to put the gardening connoisseurs in the hot seat and snatch some top tips for your own garden, simply answer the question in the coupon, fill it in and send it to me, Ellie Hargreaves, Southport Flower Show Competition, South Lakes Citizen, 1 Wainwright's Yard, Kendal, LA9 4DP, or email it to ellie.hargreaves@kendal.newsquest.co.uk before 9am next Tuesday.
QUESTION: QUESTION: What is the theme of the 2004 Southport Flower Show? Employees of Newsquest (Kendal) and their families are not eligible to enter. There is no cash alternative to the prize. The editor's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winners must agree to participate with any publicity connected with this promotion.
