THIS has been a very good year so far at Kirkby Stephen Tennis Club. This year's Club Nights held weekly from 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays have been better attended than for many years and have been a wonderful mix of ages and standards with a large number of juniors regularly attending. This augurs well for the Club's future.
On the competitive side, all teams are showing well, with the Mixed team holding their own in Division One of the Kendal and District League and the Men currently topping their division. On a National Level, the Men's National Club League team have finished third, equalling their highest ever finish. The Juniors are also doing us proud, with a very young Under 12's team competing gallantly in the Kendal and District league, the Under 14's lying second and the Under 16s team still on a 100 per cent winning record.
Community Sports Co-ordinator based at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School Sports College, Gary Payton added: "The club is also keen to invite new members along to club nights at any time. Remember, they are on Tuesdays and Thursday nights."
