A KENDAL author has added to the wealth of Lakeland literature with a guidebook to help visitors get the most from the Auld Grey Town.
Enthusiasts flocked to Kendal Library to attend the launch of local historian Arthur Nicholls' new book, Discover Kendal.
The book is an updated version of an earlier book entitled Explore Kendal to which he has added dozens of new photographs documenting the changing face of Kendal over recent years.
"I wanted to show the changes that have occurred in a living breathing town such as the building of Elephant Yard" said Mr Nicholls.
His chief inspirations was the lack of a guidebook specific to Kendal and repeated requests from Kendal Tourist Information Centre to revise his popular series of walks which were initially published in The Westmorland Gazette.
Discover Kendal is available from all local bookshops priced £6.95 or call 01539-725355.
