A SEA-KING helicopter taking part in RAF's Bowness air show on Sunday, August 1, flew to the rescue of a Slovenian woman who fell 15 metres while climbing in the Langdale Valley.
The 25-year-old, who has not been named by police, sustained a serious head injury and suspected spinal damage after the fall at Raven Crag in Great Langdale at around 4.
Members of Langdale and Ambleside and Kendal Mountain Rescue Teams were involved in the rescue before the woman was winched aboard the helicopter and flown to the Cumberland Infirmary at Carlisle.
