VOLUNTEERS are needed to help play a vital role in keeping Morecambe Bay free of flotsam, jetsam and everything else left behind by inconsiderate visitors.
So if a morning or afternoon with others helping to collect rubbish from the shoreline appeals, the Morecambe Bay Beachcare project could be just for you.
Since December, over 200 hours have been dedicated to making the Bay a nicer place for visitors and more environmentally friendly. Dedicated Beachcare groups have already been established at Arnside, and also covering an area between Heysham and Hest Bank, but more are needed.
Anyone who wants to get involved should contact Dominic Charkin at the Morecambe Bay Partnership on 01539 773449, e-mail beach@morecambe.org.uk or call up the partnership's website on www.morecambebay.org.uk
