A 20-YEAR-OLD man from Old Hutton has died following an accident near Carnforth in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The man, who has not yet been named by Lancashire police, was a passenger in a Mini Cooper car travelling south on the A6 towards Carnforth near to the junction with the A601M at around 3am.
Police said that the car left the carriageway and collided with some trees and bushes on the near side. The front seat passgenger, a 22-year-old Heysham man, was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with serious spinal injuries. The driver and the third passenger had minor cuts and bruises.
Police said a 19-year-old man from Endmoor was arrested and is helping police with their inquiries. Witnesses are asked to call Lancaster police on 01524-63333.
