SOME of the world's most famous mountaineers will gather at a South Lakeland school today for its first 'Adventure Summit'.
The event at the Lakes School, Troutbeck Bridge, will feature lectures, panel discussions, films and public debate on climbing, mountaineering and exploring.
Mountaineers Chris Bonnington, Adele Pennington and Doug Scott will be there alongside writers Ed Douglas, Julie Summers, Colin Mortlock and john Porter.
The summit is part of a programme of events being organised in partnership between the Mountain Heritage Trust and the University of Cumbria.
