Sir, This morning while travelling to the Lyth Valley I drove along the A590 westbound dual carriageway to the junction with the A5074 at Sampool Bridge.
I stopped to await eastbound traffic on the A590 to clear but found the move across the dual carriage extremely hazardous as it was very difficult to see the fast on-coming traffic particularly in the outside lane more than 75 metres, because of the high grass and vegetation which had grown in the central reservation.
I mentioned to my partner that this was an accident waiting to happen and within approximately ten minutes a serious collision had occurred at this junction.
As I am not a Cumbrian resident can I ask your voting road users to press the relevant authorities about the urgent need to prioritise the cutting of grass verges especially at road junctions similar to this one.
I certainly was not happy negotiating this junction with such a poor sightline.
