MOULD has been found in three fruit pie brands, triggering a Food Standards Agency alert.
The mould developed because a preservative was left out during production of the pies - which are not seen as a significant health risk, but could be unpleasant to eat.
Products from the affected batches should be returned to the retailer for a refund.
The products are Mr Kipling Six Fruit Selection Dessert Pies with best before dates June 3, 5 and 10 2004; Asda Six Assorted Fruit Pies (best before date June 1 and 3); and Tesco Summer Fruit Pies (best before May 29/ 31, June 4 and 11).
Anyone with concerns should call the city council's environmental health department on 01524-582735.
