LANCASTER City Council needs to put its council tax money where its mouth is.
With the arrival of summer I have seen the increasing numbers of people using the Lancaster cycleway, gawping at the Millenium Bridge and strolling along the beautiful quayside.
It is a great disappointment to the visitors and I that the riverbank next to the cycleway, overlooked by the bridge, resembles an overspill from the tip.
There are barrels, bottles and a wide range of other items anticipating the next high tide, which could be some time off.
I would like to see my council tax used where it makes a difference, so please can the city council get a skip down here, recycle what it can, get rid of the rest and give visitors a pleasant backdrop for their photographs.
M.Dillon, Lancaster.
