KIRKBY Thore Mothers' Union branch leader Margaret Davidson received a box of goodies for children in Romania, collected by Kirkby Thore Pre-School pupils.
For two weeks, the under fives brought in soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste and small gifts to send to the orphanages of Romania. The essential items for the children will join others collected locally for the John Rogerson Romania Appeal.
A bus is due to take out the items this month.
Mrs Davidson said: "The children have done very well to collect so many gifts for the appeal. Toiletries and basic items are what the children in the orphanages really need and I am sure they will be very grateful for the donations made. On behalf of the Romanian children, I would like to say a big thank you to the pre-school children and their families for being so generous."
