SADDLE-hardened athletes and novice cyclists alike are being offered the ticket to a summer of leisure activities with the launch of a new programme of bike rides.
Twenty-six guided rides covering most of Lancashire are featured in the county council's new 2004 programme of rides.
Lancashire cycling officer Alasdair Simpson says: "Cycling is safer than it has been for many years thanks to the new cycle paths we have opened in recent years."
The guide gives handy hints on getting started and features short, medium and long rides.
Trips including the Lune Valley range from five to 46 miles.
Copies are available from Alasdair on 01772-534609 or at tourist information centres.
