A FORMER tenant of an Ulverston car lot is claiming more than £100,000 compensation from South Lakeland District Council for its compulsory purchase 12 years ago.
David Myers, 57, of Oakwood Crescent, wants reimbursement for old cars and time spent sorting car parts when he was forced to leave Low Mill Tannery at West End Lane, Ulverston, in the early 90s.
The hearing was told that the building was seized by SLDC because it "represented a serious health and safety risk to the wider public."
SLDC is disputing the amount claimed at a Lands Tribunal in London. (Proceeding).
