CRIMINALS tempted to target a corner of Lancaster should watch out as Big Brother' is watching.
Thanks to a £7,500 Government grant, CCTV has been installed in the Skerton Triangle area.
Lancaster police and local retailers worked together to secure the cash - and shopkeepers say the cameras have already brought peace of mind.
The project aims to cut crime, reassure residents and improve community safety in the area, which has been targeted in the past.
The money came from Local Government Office North West under the umbrella of a Small Retailers in Deprived Areas' (SRIDA) scheme.
Crime prevention officer Jan Brown says: "Security surveys have been undertaken of all the business properties and following regular meetings with the retailers they decided to spend the money on a CCTV system to benefit not only the businesses but also the wider community."
Police are already using the system to investigate offences.
