IN this week's Prizetime I am giving two lucky readers the chance to take home some mouthwatering goodies from the fine food, gift and coffee shop, Country Harvest.
Situated just north of Ingleton on the A65, the family-run store specialises in local produce and gifts from the surrounding area. The food hall is home to a vast selection of local products to tempt your tastebuds and the famous cheese department, which stocks more than 120 varieties, won the UK Cheese Retailer of the Year Award in 1999.
Gift-wise, Country Harvest has a good range of local crafts and goodies for any occasion and books on countryside, wildlife, food and cookery fill the shelves ensuring there is something for everyone. The clothing department specialises in weatherproof jackets and fleeces and there is a large choice of ladies sweatshirts and accessories. The coffee shop, which has recently been extended to provide diners with panoramic views over Ingleborough and the surrounding countryside, is definitely worth a visit if you're passing. It sells popular home-cooked food, lunches, teas and snacks.
On offer this week is the chance to sample some of Country Harvest's finest delicacies with two luxury hampers up for grabs. The first prize, worth £60, includes a bottle of Chateau Lamothe de Haux (Red Bordeaux), Cumbrian Air Dried Ham, chicken breasts, Loch Fyne Smoked Salmon, relishes, mustards and cheeses. Second prize is a hamper of tasty treats worth £45 including Cottage Delight Duck & Armagnac Pate, Ingleton Blueberry & Lemon Pudding, Wensleydale Fruit Cake and Farrer's Lakeland Tea as well as biscuits, fudge, pickles and jams. All you have to do to enter is answer the question below and send it to me along with your name and address, Ellie Hargreaves, Country Harvest Competition, South Lakes Citizen, 1 Wainwright's Yard, Kendal, LA9 4DP, or e-mail it to ellie.hargreaves@kendal.newsquest.co.uk before 9am next Tuesday.
Employees of Newsquest (Kendal) and their families are not eligible to enter. There is no cash alternative. The editor's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winners must agree to participate with any connected publicity.
QUESTION: Name three of the goodies included in either of the two hampers up for grabs.
