AGE Concern at Penrith is playing a full role in the organisation's Safe and Secure Week, from May 24 to 28.
Distraction burgalry is a major worry for older people, says Valerie Brook, of Penrith Age Concern but there is a wealth of advice to be had about how to deal with callers and the over 50s are urged to make contact if they are at all unsure of what to do. There are fact sheets and guides to take away.
Age Concern also offers an Aid-Call personal alarm system which ensures that help can be summoned 24 hours a day by pressing a button.
