PERENNIALS, shrubs, herbs, dahlias and primulas will be among the garden delights on sale this weekend at the Sizergh Castle plant sale on Sunday.
A range of specialist plants from a variety of different nurseries will be on offer for those looking to inject their greenery with a dash of colour.
The team of gardeners at the castle hopes to raise of funds to contribute to the on-going work of the garden. The majority of plants offered for sale will be grown in peat-free compost as the estate owners, the National Trust, believe that the cost to the environment of the continued use of peat will have a long-term impact on the conservation of our peatlands.
The grounds open at 12.30pm with admission £3 per adult, £1.50 per child and National Trust members free. There is an additional charge for those visiting the castle.
