MORECAMBE folk are preparing to turn the clock back more than half a century - but need a helping hand.
Members of the Poulton Heritage Group want clothes from the 1940s to feature in a massive festival weekend they are organising in September.
It will include exhibitions, displays, parades and a massive D-Day re-enactment on the resort's beach during the three days from September 10 to 12.
And organisers want to dress up in period costume to help lend extra authenticity to everything they do.
They need items from everyday street wear to wartime uniforms to add to the wardrobe that is already being put together.
Pictured are Charlene and Marie Tyson getting into character for the festival, which it is hoped will attract as many as 30,000 visitors to Morecambe over its three days.
Marie says: "We are looking for all sorts of clothes for the festival and we know there must be people out there who have old items hidden away in attics and cupboards which we could make good use of.
"Uniforms are not such a big problem but we need all the retro' fashions we can get our hands on."
Anyone who can help is asked to call Marie on 01524-424408.
