RECYCLING efforts by community groups are about to be recognised with the launch of Lancashire's very own Rubbish Oscars'.
The search is on for the greenest group in the Red Rose county to take the title of Lancashire's best recycler.
The Red Rose Recycling Award 2004 has been set up to find not-for-profit organisations running the best waste minimisation campaign, community re-use project or recycling scheme.
Andrew Swarbrick, of Lancashire Community Recycling Network (CRN), says: "There are lots of great things being done to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill - and now is the time to recognise this work."
