A Cumbrian charity has attracted nearly 100 business sponsors in its bid to help the disadvantaged.
Charity Cumbria Community Foundation has gathered support from, among others, Kendal-based businesses such as Dixon Printing Co Ltd, on Burneside Road.
Peter Hensman, chairman of CCF, said the group aimed to provide a better life for disadvantaged people.
He said: "We need quality community life just as we need quality business."
Over the last four-and-a-half years, CCF has secured £6 million for the benefit of the county. In the last financial year, £1 million in grants was distributed.
