This week's proposed bus strike by Stagecoach's members of the Transport and General Workers' Union across Cumbria was called off at the 11th hour.
The decision was made after union officials realised a significant number of members were not going to support the action, despite having voted for it, according to regional organiser Alan McGuckin.
Managing director of Stagecoach North West Nigel Barrett said he was pleased the pay offer had been accepted and that the firm and its staff could now get on with the job of running its services.
