POLICE have warned residents not to let strangers into their homes after a suspicious incident today.
A man claiming to be from the water board called at a house in Kendal at 11am but was refused entry by the owner.
Cumbria Police spokesman Mike Head said the incident was followed by two similar calls to home owners in the north of the county.
"People are reminded not to let peeople into their homes without checking their identity."
