MOTORISTS faced two-hour delays after a van crossed the central reservation of the M6 damaging 400 metres of motorway barrier near Sedbergh.
The yellow Vauxhall Astra van was travelling northbound just before junction 37 when it crossed the central reservation and came to rest blocking two lanes of southbound traffic at around 11.58am on Friday, May 7. The male driver, who has not been named by police, was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary suffering serious, but not life threatening injuries. His female passenger was also taken to RLI as a precaution. No other vehicle was involved in the accident.
