A SOUTH Lakeland hotel company is aiming to repeat its success in Manchester with the reopening of a city centre hotel following a £500,000 refurbishment.
The 85-bedroom Princess on Portland is a former silk warehouse converted into a hotel 20 years ago. It has just secured a three star AA rating and accreditation to join the Best Western Hotel group.
Castle Green Kendal Limited managing director Tim Rumney said: "We now have a great product in a fantastic location. I believe that as the only privately-owned hotel in the city centre, we will bring the friendliness, quality and attention to detail that have proved so successful for us at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal."
