NINE people including teenage students were taken to hospital with whiplash after a collision on a junction of the A6 near Milnthorpe this morning.
A white LDV mini bus carrying pupils from Newton Rigg College in Penrith was in collision with a silver Ford Escort outside Beetham Primary School, Stanley Street, at 10.25am.
The North West Air Ambulance, three road ambulances, a rapid response vehicle from Kendal and a special transit vehicle all attended the scene.
Four people laid on spinal boards and five walking wounded were taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary in road ambulances.
Police and Fire crews also attended the scene.
Beetham Primary School took in those not injured and offered them rest and refreshment.
