FIRE officers are warning people about the dangers of leaving candles unattended on heat sources.
A fire engine attended a flat in Aynam Road, Kendal, this morning after a smoke alarm was set off by melted wax dripping into a storage heater.
Phil Colinson, crew manager at Kendal Fire Station, said it was lucky the incident did not cause a fire.
