A MAN who stole more than $5,000, which had been collected on behalf of a children’s charity, is believed to have travelled to the Lake District.
British Transport Police (BTP) are trying to trace a man who took off with the cash from an overhead luggage compartment on a London Euston to Glasgow Virgin express train on September 3.
The money was in a laptop case, which also held a Visa card, Dell laptop, Canon camera and iPod shuffle.
Officers believe the man left the train at Lancaster and travelled to the Lake District as several items were recovered from a train in Kendal.
Anyone with information is asked to call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
