MORE than £2,000 was raised for a good cause at a charity talent show when professional singers and Furness personalities joined forces for a good old sing-song.
Hundreds of people watched Voices for Hospices, held in aid of St Mary’s Hospice, in Ulverston, and won by retired Barrow Raiders star Darren Holt and Peter Murphy.
Others taking part at The Nines in Barrow included Rob Cairns, Furness Building Society chief executive, firefighter John Griffith, and Gazette reporter Daniel Orr.
Organiser Zoe Guest said:”The atmosphere was fantastic with everyone enjoying themselves and having fun. The help we receive from the local community is very special and it is what enables St Mary’s to continue to provide comprehensive supportive and palliative care for adults in South Cumbria.”
