A MILNTHORPE dog kennel is looking for canine-friendly families to adopt nine lurcher puppies.

RSPCA officers seized the litter and their mother from an overcrowded home near Carlisle last week.

The eight-week-old pups are currently living at Milnthorpe Kennels and Cattery where they have made a new friend.

“We’ve just taken in an eight-week-old border collie puppy and he’s been a bit grumpy so we’ve put him in with the lurchers to socialise him because they’re such nice dogs,” said kennel owner Chris Norman.

“Lurchers make very good pets, they’re very much a family dog, very placid.

“They’re nice and easy to walk – a five-minute charge around an open space as fast as they can is all they need. All they really want is a comfy bed and a warm fire.”
