A PROTEST group promised a summer of direct action in the Lake District this week as the battle over the introduction of a 10mph speed limit on Windermere turned personal.
The warning was issued by the Windermere Action Force as a row broke out about a poster it issued to members which criticised Lake District National Park Authority chairman, Michael Bentley.
The poster, which WAF called a leaflet, featured a photograph of Mr Bentley and criticised his role on the authority and listed contact details for the WAF.
Tony Kemp, the Bradford-based founder of WAF, said he stood by the leaflet and said the decision to ban water sports was "unfair, unjust and undemocratic."
