HIGHLIGHTS rural touring scheme continues its spring programme with a performance of Romeo & Juliet by touring theatre company Shifting Sands (pictured above), at Skirwith Social Hall, on Friday, February 20.
A Greek Adonis, a feisty English Rose and a bald man decide to put on a play - Romeo & Juliet. But can a cast of three succeed? These simple characters leap into one of the world's most famous family feuds where they tackle the pitfalls of Shakespearean English, scale the dizzy heights of adolescent passion and plummet the depths of a love's despair.
As they enter the warring worlds of the Capulets and Montagues, the tragedy reveals unexpected comic opportunities that these three playful clowns cannot resist.
