A CHARITY wants people to join it for a drink as it gears up for its 137th birthday.
The Galloway's Society for the Blind, which has a centre in Balmoral Road, Morecambe, will celebrate the milestone on March 11.
And it plans to mark the day by staging a host of Brewathon' parties.
Development worker Tony Kimpton says he wants to hear from churches, sheltered and residential housing, offices and local firms who wish to help.
"We are encouraging people to join us to help mark the occasion by having a Brewathon which may be a coffee morning, afternoon tea, bring and buy sale or whatever," he says.
Proceeds will support Galloways' services to some 1,500 visually impaired local people through talking books and newspapers, interest groups, computer classes, a resource centre, loan of specialist equipment and information days, holidays and a home visiting scheme.
