ROGER Cann retires this year after 15 years at the helm of one of Lancaster's most popular orchestras.
To commemorate his time as the Haffner Orchestra's musical director, Roger has written a new Sinfonietta with three distinct movements and names.
These are From the High Ground, The Concealed Image, and To the Vanishing Point.
The work will be performed at the Haffner's concert next Saturday, February 21, in the Ashton Hall, Lancaster, along with Beethoven's Eroica Symphony.
Mendelssohn's Fingal's Cave and Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks will also feature in the performance to be led by Louise Latham.
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £7 adults and £3 for 18s and under as well as concessions.
