Heysham Atoms, normally so travel sick south of Forton services, earned a 10-10 draw at Folly Lane (Swinton) on Saturday after two week's break due to foul weather.
Going away to meet a team that has only lost three NW Counties Division Two games all season was always going to be a tough ask for the locals but Atoms were up for the challenge.
They made a bright start playing down a muddy slope as Bryan Cambidge combined well with Batson to release livewire Garnett for his 17th try of the season after 10 minutes, and a penalty midway through the half brought the Atoms to half time 6-2 in front.
Folly Lane hit back when Dave McVernon was red-carded for a high tackle, battering the Atoms to take a 10-6 lead.
But with 10 minutes remaining Lewis Mills coasted through the Folly defence before being caught just yards short of the line. He showed his experience with a quick play-the-ball and once again Cambidge was on hand to score a try and earn a draw.
