A PRIVATE South Lakeland school has appointed a new head teacher.
Casterton School, an independent girls’ boarding school near Kirkby Lonsdale, has appointed Maxine Lucas as its new head.
Mrs Lucas succeeds Peter McLaughlin who announced he was stepping down earlier this year.
The new head, a graduate of Lancaster University and a teacher of French and Italian, will not begin her role until January as she has to fullfill a notice period with Tudor Hall School, near Banbury, Oxfordshire.
