Schools where fewer than 11 pupils sat the tests are not included in the performance tables.
The number of eligible pupils: Children are allowed to sit the tests in the final year of primary school. Most are 11-year-olds but some are 10.
Percentage of pupils at level four or above in English, Maths or science: The Government calculates the percentage reaching Level 4 (the expected standard for an 11-year-old) on the basis of all eligible pupils, whether or not they took the tests.
School total score: The school score is an aggregate of the percentages reaching Level 4 in all three subjects. Last year's figure is given to measure each school's improvement.
Value Added: This measure is worked out by comparing pupils' progress in the national curriculum tests they sat aged seven and the ones taken before they leave primary school at 11. Each pupils' score is worked out by taking their results at 11 and comparing them with the middle-ranking performance of other pupils with the similar scores in the tests they took when they were seven. The number is meant to indicate the value' added by the school.
