DETAILS of a bid for almost £1.76 million, which would be doubled and used to regenerate Ulverston and surrounding villages, are to be “ironed out” next week.
Ulverston and Low Furness Market Town Initiative officer Jayne Kendall is to meet officials from the North West Development Agency on Thursday. She said she hoped the agency would make a decision about the grant before Christmas.
If successful, the £3.33 million would be used to help set up 102 businesses during the next five years and create and safeguard 300 jobs.
Four feasibility studies would also be carried out on major town projects.
