Sunday 6th July saw the last of the Mayors Sunday's and this was to be the turn of Cllr. Anita Benson Mayor of Grange over Sands.
The sky was grey but the rain held off.
We were told to meet at St. Paul's Parish Church, Main Street, Grange. Civic guests and members of various organisations took part in a lovely service, presided over by the Rev. Ian Coomber.
The theme of the service was "Service to the Community" and there was an interesting part where intercessions were offered by a Councillor, a Young Person, a Member of the Chamber of Trade, a Member of the Civic Society, and a Community Volunteer.
After coffee in the Church at the invitation of the Vicar and congregation, Anita and her guest walked down the hill to the Victoria Hall for a buffet reception.
