Sunday 22nd June, 2008 and it was blowing a gale, the rain was lashing down when Cllr. Dermot O'Connor, Dalton's Town Mayor left the Council Chamber to parade to Dalton Parish Church for his Civic Sunday.
His service was conducted by Rev Allan Mitchell. Cllr. O'Connors seventeen year old daughter Marie-Louise is his Mayoress and during the service she sang a Psalm accompanied by her brother Joe on the accordion. Marie-Louise has a beautiful voice and is a very talented young lady.
After the service everybody was invited back to The Loft Wine Bar in Dalton for warming refreshments.
