On Friday 21st June, 2008 I was invited by the Parent/Teachers Association of Sir John Barrow School to their Summer Gala.
The afternoon was fine, just the sort of day you want for a Gala. The children manned many of the stalls selling goods, and games were organised. Ulverston Inshore Rescue, St. Johns Ambulance and Furness Mountain Rescue were their with their vehicles, the children were asking all sorts of questions about the equipment.
I was asked to judge the best Mask competition. All week they had been busy making mask's and it was my job to choose what I thought was the best (this was a very difficult job, as there were so many good ones). I chose one from each class, well done to every on who took part. I hope the Parent/Teachers Association made plenty of money.
