DRAMA students in Eden have been given a unique lesson into the inner workings of the theatre from the glare of the spotlight to the smell of the greasepaint.
The Bloody Bones production company is made up of students from Kirkby Stephen Grammar School who spent a week learning about all aspects of the theatre business and the range of skills needed to put on a successful play.
Head of performing arts Cathy Want said the project, which also included pupils from appleby.uk.net" target="_blank">Appleby and Penrith, gave the students a valuable insight into a variety of drama-related disciplines.
“The students worked with a professional team which included actors, musicians and set designers and culminated in a production of The Threepenny Opera by Weill and Brecht. They worked very hard and built the set, made the costumes and ran the show behind the scenes,” she said.
“It was a fantastic experience for the students and though it was challenging they did extremely well and we had some great feedback from everyone who watched the show.”
