Sunday 15th June, 2008 and it was the turn of Cllr. Dave Roberts, Barrow Boroughs Mayor to hold his Civic Parade.
The weather was dry but windy and when it's windy in Barrow, it's windy.
A large parade of civic guests and local organisations set off from the Town Hall to the Parish Church of St. George in Barrow where the Rev. Jane Nattrass gave the service.
After the service the parade marched back to the Town Hall, where the Mayor took the salute.
The Mayor held a reception in the Town Hall for all the organisations who took part in his Civic Sunday. Barrow Town Hall is a wonderful place to hold a reception, it's a place full of Victorian grandeur.
