Thursday 29th May, 2008 South Lakeland Crime and Disorder Partnership organised a Community Day in Ulverston. Thursday is always a good day to hold an event in Ulverston and there was plenty going on. The day was organised to raise the public's awareness of crime, even though South Lakeland is one of the safest places in the country to live and work. The day started off with a BANG an excellent drumming Band played at the Market Cross, there were balloons, face painting, street theatre and information stalls manned by St. Johns, Trading Standards, The Probation Service, Cumbria County Councils Fire Service, the Police etc. The day was organised by Jenny Draper and the team, well done on a successful event.
