Thursday 15th of May will be Kendal’s annual Mayor making.
All the preparations are going on behind the scenes, speeches being written, chairs all aligned, outfits organised (well by the women any way!) The Mayor making is really a civic ceremony , the current Mayor presents her summary of the previous year, an election takes place for the new Mayor, a change over takes place (chains, robe etc) the new Mayor now returns and declares their plans for the coming year.
